I am a watercolor artist in Potomac, Maryland. I was born and raised in India where I learned art in high school. Then life got in the way!! I rediscovered my passion for art 20 years later after having immigrated to the US, raised two children, completed my PhD in Anthropology, developed a successful career in international development and public health. I began to take several art classes from local art programs that reignited my passion for art.
I am inspired by the vibrant and diverse cultures that I see as I travel globally as part of my job in international development. My paintings celebrate the cultural differences that I experience reflecting the beauty of people’s lives. I focus on watercolor because of its transparency and freshness.
I am a signature artist of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and am a member of the Montgomery Art Association, Baltimore Watercolor Society, Glen Echo Friends of the Yellow Barn, Artist and Makers Studio, and Rockville Art League. I have exhibited in several juried art shows and have received awards at the 2017 and 2018 Kensington Labor Day Art Shows. I am now a resident artist with the Artist and Makers Studios and Gallery 209.
